For the longest time humankind has tried to find answers to questions like what is the purpose of life, or to put it more accurately, what is the meaning of life. Douglas Adams's popular 1979 science-fiction novel The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, talks about this and reveals that the answer to the “Great Question” of “Life, the Universe and Everything” is “forty-two”. Looking back on the history lane, through civilization till the big bang, another question arises. What happened before the big band? There was nothingness. It is almost impossible to imagine nothingness in today’s world but try comparing that with this piece of wood. We have come a very long way but still have not found the answer to the meaning of life. But we hope we are close to finding the answer to this big question since the meaning of life lies in the convolution of one’s values and actions. Is that what our ancestors from the stone age thought too? This photo was featured on “The Minimalist” Instagram page and the editorial page of Unsplash.
