Negative space brings more positive inputs into the frame and the picture than we could ever envision. It must feel like taking a break from social media. You hear a lot of voices a day. Take those earphones out, put them down. Look around you. Get out of your room and listen to other voices. That experience would just be like using negative space in a minimalist picture. Negative space is the element that determines how freely the eye moves about in the image and directs the eye to a place to rest. The key to the amount and placement of negative space is achieving a balance between its impact and your subject. This openness is meant to create breathing room for the subject but not lose the subject's prominence entirely. Bring life to the negative spaces in your life. Read between the lines.
